Artificial intelligence (AI) has become the most popular and sought after technical study. Thanks to increased data volumes, advanced algorithms, and improvements in computing power and storage.

What is AI?

AI in simple terms is the creation of software that imitates human behaviors and capabilities.

AI is symbiosis of technology and human aspirations towards helping the man-kind, making life simpler by incorporating the technological interface.

Key elements of AI:

§ Making decisions based on data and past experience

§ Detecting anomalies

§ Interpreting visual input

§ Understanding written and spoken language

§ Engaging in dialogue and conversations

Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool that may be used as a facilitator towards simplifying the day to day living and achieve desired aspirations. Like any technology AI too has to be used with all care, concern and wisdom so that the world doesn’t face any untoward. The AI and its use should be always “responsible”

What is responsible AI?

Responsible AI addresses the gap in making the artificial intelligence systems more transparent, reliable and interpretable so that organizational and social issues of fairness, bias, legal compliance and ethics can be addressed methodically. Responsible AI is about creating new opportunities and governance frameworks to evaluate, deploy and monitor AI to create new opportunities in improving mankind lives enlisting from business to healthcare & education.AI is architecting and implementing solutions that put people at the center.

Principles of responsible AI

AI software development is guided by a set of six principles, designed to ensure that AI applications provide amazing solutions to difficult problems without any unintended negative consequences.

1. Fairness: AI systems should treat all people fairly.

2. Reliability and safety: AI systems should perform reliably and safely. They must be subjected to rigorous testing and deployment management processes to ensure that they work as expected before release.

3. Privacy and security: AI systems should be secure and respect privacy. Even after the models are trained and the system is in production, it uses new data to make predictions or take action that may be subject to privacy or security concerns.

4. Inclusiveness: AI systems should empower everyone and engage people. AI should bring benefits to all parts of society, regardless of physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or other factors.

5. Transparency: AI systems should be understandable. Users should be made fully aware of the purpose of the system, how it works, and what limitations may be expected.

6. Accountability: People should be accountable for AI systems. Designers and developers of AI-based solutions should work within a framework of governance and organizational principles that ensure the solution meets ethical and legal standards that are clearly defined.

AI has reached the place in its evolution where it’s very useful without being costly. Now that it’s used in machine learning, decisioning, and personalization, developers need tools to control it. You need a control switch — one that lets you direct how your AI operates.

AI technology developers are considering classifying it into two categories:

·Sometimes the technology can’t explain itself or why its operating in a certain way in simpler terms like a “black box” (a device/system/object which can be viewed in terms of its inputs and output, without any knowledge of its internal workings.) and hence termed as Opaque AI.

·AI is far better at predicting behavior than the human mind. AI can also develop value systems we can’t explain, leading to questionable decisions that seriously impact our lives. That’s scary. But there’s a way to control that — it’s called Transparent AI.

Hopefully this gives an informative insight into the still much unexplored AI.

AI is emerging as a very elaborate and evergreen field filled with immense employment and entrepreneurship options.
